Strip Modelling Tutorial
Part One: SETUP
First the scene is set up. It's basically a blender default setup, except the camera has a 90
degree lens, and is therefore placed further away. This is so that the head will appear more
'normal' when viewed through the camera. Also I've placed two 3d views side by side, a front view
(numpad '1'), and a camera/side view (numpad '0'/'3').
Put the camera and the light on layer three - press 'm' to open the layer selector and choose the
third slot.
We're going to make use of Blender's background image function. Click on the 'view' tab in the
front view, and click on 'Background Image'.
..which will bring up this menu. Click the 'Use Background Image' button.
Click on the folder icon to browse to your front image. I input a '5' in 'Y offset' to place my
reference image above the centerline, but otherwise I used default values.
Here we are with both reference pictures properly placed. Ain't it pretty!
